VRTX didn't start with a business plan. It started with a belief.
Charles Fournier grew up in Michigan, stepping onto his first competitive stage at 3 years old with nothing but drive and a dream that was bigger than the city he came from. What followed was a decorated competitive career, earning numerous titles and accolades across the dance competition circuit that laid the foundation for everything he would go on to build. That kid went on to earn a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, study dance in Seoul, South Korea, and build a career that has taken him to over 30 countries and onto some of the most celebrated stages in the world.
Since graduating, Charles has worked across virtually every corner of the entertainment industry — stadium and arena tours, television and film sets, festival main stages, and everything in between. He has performed alongside artists including Helene Fischer, P!nk, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Katy Perry, Rebecca Black, Queen Latifah, Luis Fonsi and Rupaul, and has shared sets with Chris Hemsworth, John Stamos, Jimmy Kimmel, Tiffany Haddish, Julianne Hough, James Corden, and many others.
His work has been featured on nearly every major streaming platform, and some of his credits include World of Dance on NBC, Dancing with the Stars, and a national campaign for Sam Adams. He has graced the stages of Madison Square Garden, the Kia Forum in LA, BST Hyde Park London, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and festivals across Central America and Australia. He is represented by Bloc Talent Agency and is based between Los Angeles, Detroit, and New York City.
What sets Charles apart is that he isn't speaking from the sidelines. He is still a working professional — still touring, still on set, still pushing the boundaries of what is possible in his own career. For Charles, the pursuit never stops. The art keeps evolving, the goals keep expanding, and the belief that you can always grow, always learn, and always reach higher is not just something he teaches — it is something he lives every single day.
That is why VRTX exists.
VRTX Dance Championship was built to bring the industry to the dancer — not the other way around. Charles created this competition to connect K-12 students and studio communities with adjudicators who have real, working experience in professional dance and entertainment. The goal has never just been a trophy. It has always been about giving young performers the feedback, the exposure, and the perspective they need to take their talent beyond the competition floor and into the wider world.
VRTX is the beginning of something larger. And if you have ever been a kid with a big dream and the drive to match it, Charles built this for you.
